VII•XXII•MMXIX – Day 2 & 3

Our core group leaders prayed over us and wrote a word that they heard from God under our names.

My first weekend here at IHOP is in the books. After arriving my first day we had a short orientation and got to know our Core groups. Core groups are the girls I’m living with and growing with over the next five months. Then we had the opportunity to unpack and spend time in the apartment before taking on our first full day. Five hours of orientation and four hours in the prayer room so when I say full-day… I’m not exaggerating. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good day, just a lot of guidelines to process.

On Sunday I got to see one of my brothers closest friends, who I’ve known since he was born; it was nice to have a small connection to home even for a moment. He’s attending a camp that IHOP hosts once a year and we saw one another between church services. The rest of the day we got to know the other interns as well as had a ‘house meeting’ with our core group. This gave our leaders the opportunity to explain some house rules to follow inside the apartment – however, they say we won’t actually be there as often as we think.

Overall, this weekend was tiring yet full of good information and friendly people. I’m excited to dive into a regular schedule later this week and acclimate to everything here! Right now it’s still pretty tiring – today we have 7 hours in the prayer room; I can only imagine it will be exhausting yet a powerful time in God’s presence.

As always, thanks for reading. xx
