Kansas City

VII•XXVI•MMXIX – Day 7

Thursday, July 25 – A Day in the Plaza

In 2017 I visited this little plaza with a group of friends. It still is one of my favorite memories; now, I have another memory in this beautiful city. A day that started with a few of us planning to hang out on the base and visit a library – turned into a shopping trip with everyone in my group (minus one group leader). Country club plaza is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful areas in Kansas City. For all I know, there could be somewhere better; but the all the architect and beautiful homes surrounding this plaza leave me amazed every time.

Of course, I’m on a tight budget while I’m here but I couldn’t help but spend a little money; after all, we were on a shopping trip. I not only grabbed the cutest summer dress for only $5 – but I was able to find some hoop earrings for $1 and also grab a cardigan. It is very cold in the buildings at IHOP… so I needed something to wear over dresses. Overall, I had a successful shopping experience. We also took a bunch of pictures as we went along!

This was a little spot between Barnes and Noble and Old Navy. Like I said – it’s such a beautiful area with cute little areas all over. There are fountains everywhere, and beautiful buildings. After our shopping trip, we quickly stopped by Target to get a SIM card for one of the international girls; and guys… it’s a super target. Do we even have a super target in Rochester? I don’t think so – I would definitely know if we did! It was so big… Literally my dream store. We had to run in and out (Johnny you should be proud… I only stopped like once and then I was really good). We’re going back another day though to look around and shop; I mean how could we not, it’s a SUPER TARGET.

Anyway, I ended the night by face timing my best friend, it was so great to talk and laugh with her for a while. It was just a really great first day off, definitely one for the books. I’m sure we’ll do even more on another day off, but for the first one, I’m very happy. I also got a lot of sleep, which is great for starting off the second week of our schedule. Actually, side note, our week’s technically start on Tuesday when we receive our new schedule and turn in assignments. I’m still getting used to that.

Thank you all for reading. xx
